Sweet Home San Diego

It isn’t our home anymore, but we do still have many memories on the streets and beaches of good ole’ SD. Luckily we have been making some memories with the girls on the streets and beaches of Coronado for the last couple years and we are loving this Memorial Day trip. We got super lucky this year as Bert & Baba decided to meet us down there and that made the trip extra-special. We told Cam about the trip on Tuesday and she cried every night until Friday: “I want to go to San Diego today!” – “I want to go to Bert & Baba’s house in San Diego!” (huh?) Patience is not her strong suit… It’s a long travel day even though it’s only an hour flight, but the girls did pretty good on the way down. We first met up with M’s friend from UCLA, Cremer and baby Brooklyn. After that N’s friends Alan and the Sheedys met us on the beach in PB.

We took the girls to Sea World one morning and had an afternoon walk in La Jolla, but other than that, we spent lots of time at the pool, hot tub and beach. Such a blast.

Great long weekend in SD!

And once again, the fireworks started on the trip back…getting off the plane in Oakland at 3pm-ish Mac (who desperately needed a nap) was smacking her mom in the face, smacking her dad in the face, screaming, convulsing, put her down in the terminal and she was bear crawling and writhing on the floor, pick her up and she was jumping out of our arms, finally got her strapped into her stroller, all the while everyone in the terminal laughing at us…after a very long and loud walk to the car, strapped her into the car seat and within literally a minute, she was fast asleep. Poor girl just needed some shut eye.
